Job Responsibilities
Supporting in the development and management of GIS applications that are primary focused in growing and improving core business demands
Assist in the planning and coordination of GIS activities to meet the Survey department goals
Develop and managing control quality standards for system applications
Performing data capture testing, editing and analysis for GIS end-user tools
Overseeing data flow, management, and distribution activities that are aimed at supporting GIS related projects
Supporting and participating in the designing and development of the geospatial database
Maintaining up-to-date and accurate geospatial documentation for reference purposes
Staying up to date or abreast with the latest developments in the GIS field a must
Will be responsible for giving support in the development of a work execution plan for field collection projects
Efficiently manage geospatial databases and developing effective web maps for varies client field data collection projects.
Required to support the testing and usability of sub-meter GPS devices as we strive to pair repeatable solutions for GPS and field data collection
Responsible for learning the functionalities of the other survey field computers and establish and knowledge base for connecting external GPS receivers to those for improve GPS quality
Will be asked to assist in the preparation of training material to use of GIS related applications, and host training sessions with on-boarding staff
Qualifications, Experience, Skills
A Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Computer Science, Geography, or Engineering
Valid State Driver’s License with clean abstract
Ability to pass DOT drug and alcohol screening as well as being subject to random testingthroughout employment
Profound GIS knowledge, as a GIS specialist is expected to work with various GIS tools
High analytical thinking to effectively analyze information and databases
Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills to effectively communicateand work with departmental staff and the management team
Ability to pay particular attention to details to work with databases and analyze information
1-2 years of proven work experience either professionally or through an internship
Ability to work with a team as well as communicate with all levels of employees and clients
